When you create your profile on Workana, it goes through a moderation process that may take 15 to 30 days to verify that it meets the platform’s requirements.
During this process, the status displayed on your dashboard indicates which stage your profile is at.
Below, we explain what each status means and what you need to know to move forward. 👇
⏳ 1. Pending — We’re Reviewing Your Profile
This status means that your profile is undergoing free moderation and is being evaluated by our system.
The usual review period is 15 to 30 days. During this time, you simply need to wait for your status to be updated and for news about the moderation result.
Important: While your profile is pending and has not yet been approved, you will not be able to submit proposals for projects published on the platform.
⚠️ 2. Not Approved — Profile Update
This status means that your profile has already gone through the free moderation process but was not approved in the comparative evaluation.
This does not necessarily mean you did anything wrong. Workana receives a high volume of applications and must be selective when approving profiles.
In this case, we recommend reviewing and improving your profile information before trying again.
💡 How can you strengthen your profile?
- Complete your profile information: Fill in the available fields with clear, relevant information about your professional experience and services. Entering your hourly rate is mandatory.
- Demonstrate your professional experience: Include your work history and describe the tasks you have performed, highlighting the skills you use in your work.
- Complete skill certifications: The free certifications available on Workana can help demonstrate your knowledge in the areas where you want to work.
- Highlight your skills: Make sure your profile information matches the services you intend to offer and your demonstrable experience.
How does the evaluation work?
Moderation is a comparative process. Different aspects are considered, including how complete your profile is, the certifications you have obtained, and your demonstrable experience in the skills you have listed.
Therefore, more complete profiles with relevant certifications and greater demonstrable experience in their areas of specialization may have a better chance of being approved.
Important: Improving your profile can strengthen your application, but it does not guarantee approval. You will not be able to submit proposals until your profile is approved.
🚀 Can you speed up a new review?
Yes. Workana offers a paid service called Priority Moderation, which allows you to speed up your profile review without waiting for the usual free moderation period.
This service can also be used if your profile was not approved through the free moderation process.
For more information, read the article: What is Priority Moderation?.
Please note: Priority Moderation has an additional cost and does not guarantee profile approval. Your profile will still be evaluated according to Workana’s established moderation criteria and requirements.
🎉 3. Approved — Your Profile Has Been Approved!
This status means that your profile has been approved and you have successfully completed the moderation process, either through free moderation or the Priority Moderation service.
You can now work as a freelancer on Workana and submit proposals for projects that match your skills and experience.
✅ Next steps
- Review your information and keep your profile up to date.
- Choose projects that match your skills and experience.
- Carefully read each project description before submitting a proposal.
- Personalize your proposals and highlight how your experience can contribute to the project.
Remember that profile approval is the first step. Keeping your information complete and demonstrating your skills will help you present your work more clearly to clients.
We hope this information helps you understand each stage of moderation and prepare your profile to take advantage of the opportunities available on Workana! 😊
🔒 Keep Your Negotiations on Workana: do not share external contact information or accept requests to continue conversations, negotiate, or make payments outside the platform.
