The freelancer has submitted the work through the platform and marked it as delivered.
What happens next? 😎
Here’s how to review the work and complete the project so the payment can be released and you can leave your review.
1. Review and accept the delivery
As the client, review the delivery to make sure it includes everything agreed upon with the freelancer. Depending on the type of project, check that you’ve received all the materials included in the agreement, editable files when applicable, passwords and login credentials, and any other resources you were promised.
If everything is in order, accept the delivery. Keep in mind that accepting a final or partial delivery releases the corresponding percentage of the funds, as specified by the freelancer.
Once released, the funds are no longer held in escrow and become available to the freelancer, who can withdraw them at any time.
Important: Accepting the final delivery closes the project contract and releases the corresponding funds. However, you’ll still have access to the chat with the freelancer and can resume communication at any time unless you choose to archive the conversation.
⚠️ If the delivery doesn’t meet the agreed requirements, you can reject it and explain in the project which improvements or changes the freelancer needs to make before submitting it again.
2. Rate the freelancer
The final step is to rate the freelancer’s performance throughout the project. Both you and the freelancer can rate each other, but neither of you will see the other’s rating before submitting your own. This helps keep the process fair for both parties.
Please note: Once submitted, a rating cannot be changed.
Workana does not modify ratings that have been given or received, so make sure you review your feedback carefully before submitting it.

What should you consider when rating a completed project?
When rating the freelancer, consider not only the final result but also their performance throughout the project.
Here are some aspects to keep in mind:
1. Quality of the delivered work
Does the result meet the agreed requirements? For example, if you hired someone to build a website, does it work properly and meet your specifications? If the project involved developing a mobile app, is the result stable and does it include the requested features?
2. Meeting deadlines
Did the freelancer meet the agreed deadlines? Were the deliverables submitted on time, or did delays affect the progress of the project?
3. Communication
How was communication throughout the project? Did the freelancer respond within a reasonable time, explain their ideas clearly, and maintain good communication throughout the process?
4. Skills and experience
Did the freelancer demonstrate the skills and knowledge they mentioned in their proposal? Were they able to handle the tasks and challenges involved in the project?
5. Initiative and added value
Did the freelancer simply complete the requested work, or did they also contribute ideas, suggestions, or solutions that improved the final result?
6. Potential for future collaboration
Think about your overall experience with the freelancer. Would you hire them again for another project? Did their working style, expertise, and commitment meet your business needs?
Your review helps other clients understand what it’s like to work with this freelancer and can also help you make informed decisions when hiring in the future.
🤝 Remember! If you had a great experience working with a freelancer and would like to work with them again, you can invite them to participate in any project you publish on Workana.
